Plain English communicator 2018

Charlie Corbett (The Art of Plain Speaking)

Charlie wrote The Art of Plain Speaking, which we read and wholeheartedly loved. In it, Charlie rails against the usual culprits – people with a terrible addiction to jargon, gobbledygook, legalese and basic unnecessary and lazy sloppiness. Designed to help you survive the workplace, it should certainly help you, at the very least, feel a little bit better about loathing your work colleagues for talking absolute nonsense.

As the book suggests: “If you want to be taken seriously by those who matter in business, then it is crucial that you learn to write and speak in a way that is elegant and clear. Use plain English, short words and sentences.”
