Robert Fisk is a highly respected journalist famous for fantastic work in war-torn and crisis-stricken parts of the world. He is a multi-award winning writer and uncompromising truth seeker in the tradition of John Pilger. For many years, he has provided an uncompromising view of deeply troubling global events.

Mr Fisk’s 2014 pieces, particularly on Isis and Syria, offered the clearest, most insightful voice on an extremely difficult, upsetting matter. He helped make some kind of clear sense of what was and is largely senseless. Unlike some of his peers, he never overplays his own part in what’s unfolding. He achieves a level of journalistic excellence that continues to provide a benchmark.
