Steven Pinker – The Sense of Style: The Thinking Person's Guide to Writing in the 21st Century

Pinker’s prescriptive book is a style guide that mocks the worst of business jargon. It’s also a superbly and clearly written celebration of the best, least fuzzy kind of writing. It should become a standard text and makes a potentially dry subject highly entertaining.

During the book’s release, much was made of Pinker’s attack on lazy, insular, ill-thought out office communications. When such a well-respected, high-profile thinker and speaker takes on one of our pet hates, it helps us deliver our message to a wider audience. Steven Pinker did great work on our behalf in 2014 and is a fitting recipient of our International Award.
