Foot in Mouth award 2021
Dominic Raab
Previously, Raab came so close to winning the Foot in Mouth award that we almost announced a joint winner. But this year – cementing his position as a particularly dim Government minister – Raab lazily, and quite probably misogynistically, misinterpreted the term ‘misogyny’. Not that Raab would know either way, since he happily suggested that “Misogyny is absolutely wrong – whether it’s a man against a woman, or a woman against a man."
With thanks to runners-up Neil Oliver, who griped that he couldn’t do whatever he wanted to do while over 150,000 people died of Covid-19, and equally tone-deaf Anne-Marie Trevelyan, not quite selling the idea of MP second jobs.
