What makes a website clear?
Plain English is certainly a start, but people also need to be able to find what they’re looking for on your website.
A website review will tell you whether your website is suitable for your intended audience. It considers the following.
- Is your site navigation clear, obvious and simple?
- Have you divided your site into clear sections, and can visitors to your site move easily between these sections?
- How easy is it for visitors to your site to work out where they are on it?
- Is your website easy on the eye, with crisp clear text that doesn’t fade into the background because of insufficient contrast?
- Are you excluding some of your audience - have you thought about accessibility?
After the review we give you a report. Although we use some online tools in the review, the report is not computer-generated.
Once you have made the changes recommended in our report, just ask us to review the site again. As long as you do this within a year, we will not charge for reviewing the same site again (unless you have completely rebuilt it).
When your website meets the required standard, you can apply for an Internet Crystal Mark logo.
A website review costs £345 + VAT. If you want more information, email us at info@plainenglish.co.uk.
