Foot in Mouth awards

Each year we celebrate the worst gaffe by a public figure with our 'Foot in Mouth' award.

And, we have always managed to find a worthy winner. Last year, Russell Brand couldn't be overlooked. The year before, Mitt Romney could've won for any one of a dozen howlers. Looking further back, the likes of John Prescott, George Bush and Silvio Berlusconi have pretty much selected themselves.

Starting this year, we will also ask you what you think. When it comes to making the final decision, we may be in full agreement with your suggestion.

You may have a preferred candidate in mind. If so, we will mention the fact. We may even create a new title to run alongside the existing 'Foot in Mouth' award.

So bear this in mind as you listen to electioneering politicians and the usual array of waffling celebs in 2015. Then, nominate your pick as a worthy winner and let us know at info@plainenglish.co.uk.
